Then read on….

There is no single right way to handle an emergency situation. There are too many variables for so many different scenarios. This course will teach you skills and develop your knowledge so that you have the resources to be able to assist or manage an emergency.

In order to enter this course you must be a PADI Advanced Open Water diver or have an equivalent certification from another agency.

This course is demanding & serious but that doesn’t mean it’s not a lot of fun too.

What you will do
The course takes place over 4 days and includes both your Rescue and Emergency First Response (EFR) certifications.

Rescue Course

  • Theoretical Knowledge

You will learn how to recognise stress, how to be prepared for emergencies, accident management procedures and how to respond. This theoretical knowledge will be learnt by videos, your manual and your instructor. Prior to certification your learning will be tested with a final exam.

  • Waterskills and Scenarios

You will practice techniques in the water that will enable you to respond to panic, unconsciousness, near drowning, missing divers and numerous other potential accidents. After mastering these techniques you will be required to put everything that you have learnt into practice and respond to four simulated accident scenarios.

Emergency First Response
The EFR course is the first aid course which we offer to complement the Rescue Course. It covers primary and secondary first aid. It is a valid first aid course that anyone can take weather diving or not. If you already have a valid first aid certificate and you have evidence of it then taking this course is not a requirement.
